The Ville Marie Multidisciplinary Breast Centers (VMMBC), the  first Canadian member of the National Consortium of Breast Centers, has brought together a multidisciplinary team of experienced health professionals including technicians, radiologists, physicians, pathologists, surgical, medical and radiation oncologists, reconstructive surgeons, psychologists, physiotherapists, fitness experts and support personnel who share the following commitments:

  1. To minimize the delay and alleviate the anxiety often experienced by patients, either referred for breast evaluation or undergoing regular monitoring, by providing a complete and prompt clinical, imaging and, when needed, cytopathology assessment, as well as offering other pertinent information and advice regarding breast care,  (see schedule for  next series  of information sessions starting in September 2008).  
  2. To promote an improved prognosis for breast cancer by early detection, appropriate therapy based on current Ville Marie Oncology treatment guidelines, and convenient follow-up examinations by a multidisciplinary oncology team quick on-site access to with all pertinent imaging and diagnostic technology in a reassuring ambulatory community environment (Ville Marie Oncology Center).
  3. To promote better communication with referring physicians and to provide health professionals with an opportunity to improve their ability to detect and manage breast pathology.
  4. To promote clinical research, carried out by the Ville Marie Oncology Research Center under the supervision of the Ville Marie Medical Ethics and Review Board, and to monitor our current and future therapeutic procedures and diagnostic technology.
  5. To provide access to other women's health related services.
